Eligibility, explained.
Eligibility depends on your utility, location, and the available offer. Benefit participation is not required for every community solar offer. SNAP or Medicaid may be one way to qualify for a specific income-qualified offer; neither benefit guarantees acceptance, and you do not need to receive both.
FOOD ASSISTANCE
If you or a member of your household receives SNAP benefits, you may qualify for an income-qualified community solar offer, subject to program requirements.
MEDICAID
If you or a member of your household is enrolled in Medicaid, you may qualify for an income-qualified community solar offer, subject to program requirements.
Benefits of Community Solar
Electricity Bill Savings
Subscribers may receive solar credits that reduce eligible electricity charges. Savings vary on usage, subscription size, utility rates, program structure, and the energy produced.
No Rooftop Solar Installation
Electricity is generated at an off-site solar farm, there is no equipment installed at your house and no panels for you to maintain!
An option for Renters
Depending on the program and utility requirements, renters may be able to participate as long as they are responsible for an eligible electric account.
Support Renewable Energy
By participating, you help support electricity generation from renewable solar resources and expand access to clean energy for more households.
Accessible for More People
Community solar makes it possible for many households and businesses to participate in a single solar project together.
